How do I reserve an item?
If all copies of an item are on loan, you can reserve a copy. To do this, search the catalogue to find the item you want, checking its availability by clicking on the title. At the next screen, the menu on the left hand side offers the 'Reserve Item' option. If you have not already logged in to your library account you will be asked for your card number and PIN. Enter your University ID card number and click the "Reserve item" button. When the book is available you will receive an email and, if we have your mobile number, a text message.
Full instructions are on the Getting Started web pages from the Library home page.
How do I collect my reservation?
As soon as a copy becomes available the Library will keep it for you on our open access reservation shelves, opposite the Help Desk on the ground floor. We will email/text you to let you know that it is available for collection. You have seven days in which to collect it before it is placed back on the shelves for others to borrow, or moves to the next person waiting if applicable.
