There are a number of reasons this can happen:
- You can only reserve an item if all copies of a book (excluding short loan or reference copies) are out on loan. If the catalogue says a copy has recently been returned, check the returns trolleys, situated on each floor.
- If you already have a copy of the book on loan, you will not be able to reserve another copy.
- Some items, including reference books, official publications and journals cannot be borrowed.
- If you owe over £20 your account will be blocked.
