You need to export the references in your Shibboleth RefWorks account as a tagged file and then import them into your Login/Password RefWorks account. It is not advisable to use the backup and restore option as this will overwrite any existing data in the Login/Password account!

If you have forgotten your RefWorks Login Name or Password, use the "Login to RefWorks" link, below, then the link marked "Forgot Your Login Information?" to request a reset link (vaild for 24 hours).

To export references from your Shibboleth account:

  1. Open your Shibboleth account
  2. Link to <References> on the tool bar and select <Export>
  3. Select <RefWorks Tagged Format> as the Export format
  4. Link to the <Export> button
  5. Link to <File/Save As>, and save the data as a .txt file on your desktop

To import references into your login/password account:

  1. Log out, and login to your login/password account
  2. Link to <References> on the tool bar and select <Import>
  3. Select <RefWorks Tagged Format> as the “Import Filter/Data Source”
  4. Leave “Tagged Format” the database entry
  5. Use the Browse button to navigate to your saved file on the desktop
  6. Leave the encoding as UTF-8
  7. Link to the <Import> button
  8. Your references should be imported to your Last Imported Folder
