When you borrow items from the Library you are advised of the due date and reminded that Long Loan items may be reserved and recalled, the receipt is sent to your email. You are responsible for ensuring that these items are returned by the date requested. Long Loan items issue for 4 weeks plus 6 Auto Renewals (unless there are reservations waiting) but may be recalled after 14 days if the item has been reserved; you are then given 14 days to return the item.

Whilst it is your responsibility to check your account and return items by their due dates, the Library will send monthly account statements. These show all current activity on your account including, current checkouts, recalled items, outstanding fines and current reservations. We will send a separate email if an item fails to auto renew and a separate email advising of the new due date if items are recalled.

Once an item has become overdue, you will similarly receive email notifications for a certain period. If a reservation you've placed becomes available, we notify you by email too.

If you believe we should have sent you notices and you've not received them, we can check that our system correctly generated the notices and provide the time and date of these. You should also check that you have no email account issues (eg reaching your quota, and checking your spam box). If we still have concerns, IT Support can sometimes assist in tracking emails, if they were not sent more than a week ago.
