Occasionally Library Search is briefly unavailable and you may experience the problems mentioned, seeing an error message on the Library Search page. The problem very rarely lasts, and you can resolve it simply by closing your browser and starting again - or if you don't want to close that browser, using a different browser on the same PC is usually fine too.

Where the Library Search box is not displayed at all on the Library homepage this can also be fixed by switching to another browser. Alternatively, if you don't want to switch browser, try deleting your cookies for brunel.summon.serialssolutions.com as follows:

  • if you use IE go to Tools > Internet Options > under Browsing history, click on the Settings button > then View files > change the View setting to Details > search for brunel.summon > highlight and delete each line in turn, and select Ok twice...
  • if you use Firefox go to Tools > Options > Privacy > click on Remove individual cookies > search for brunel.summon > highlight and Remove each instance in turn and select Close twice...
  • if you use Google Chrome go to Customize and control (look for 3 horizontal bars icon, to the right of the URL bar) > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Privacy > Content settings > Cookies > All cookies...
  • if you use Opera go to Tools > Preferences > Advanced - Cookies...
  • if you use Safari go to Edit > Preferences > Privacy...

Then refresh/reload the Library homepage to get the search box.
