Nexis, includes a Company Dossier section. It is listed on the Market Research Library Guide, and the Databases A-Z. For access to Company Dossier you must use use the Alternative link from either of these pages. Company Dossier draws together company information from many sources, including Hoovers.
Once in Nexis:
- Select All Search Forms, at the top centre of the screen
- Now select Dossier Find a Company. (The Dossier Create Company List and Industry Dossier features may also be useful)
- Search by Company name. You can limit by company type, or by country if you wish
- When you select a company from the list of results, you'll get to the Snapshot report, which contains small section boxes from different sources. Select the source link at the bottom of the box to look for a longer report, or use the content sections at the left of the page.
The LexisNexis Academic contains videos on topics such as using Company Dossier, Creating a Company List, Comparing a company, and using Industry Dossier. In Lexis Nexis Academic, select Training Resources (at the left), then the Business Intelligence tab, then Company Dossier.
You also have access to several other databases containing company profiles. If you cannot find the company you need in Company Dossier, or want to find other reports, see the Companies section on the Market Research Library Guide. Also consider whether you’re using the brand name – is there another name that the company might be known by?
