If articles are not available online or in print at Brunel, and are not available freely online via Google Scholar, your options for accessing them are visiting another Library that has a print subscription to the volumes you need, or requesting an Interlibrary Loan.

Visiting other Libraries

To check which libraries have the journal in print that you require, use JISC Library Hub to search across all Library catalogues. This will include the print and online versions of the journal.  Some entries will include the date ranges that they have and some won't. For the online versions which there will be links to you won't be able to access these. You may need to check the library catalogue directly to see what they have..

As an undergraduate student you can get reference access to many other university libraries, using the SCONUL Access scheme. You can apply for a SCONUL card online at the link below. You will also be able to find out which libraries you have access to on the website.

As part of Brunel's University of London membership students and staff also have access to the facilities and collections of Senate House library.  The library collections collections focus on arts, humanities and social science areas. You can visit the library or have access to their electronic collection although some items you have to be on site for.  If we find the at the item you have requested is available electronically we will let you know and cancel the request.

Inter Library Loans

We can request copies of the articles you need via Inter Library Loan - they usually come from the British Library.  You can request articles, electronic or print format, via the Library catalogue. Please check our website for more information on Inter Library Loans, including information on how many you can request or for personal use how much it would cost.
