Last Updated: 17 Nov, 2017     Views: 28, the online Financial Times newspaper, has the option for exploring articles on a timeline in its UK Business & Economy and Politics & Policy sections.

  • If you haven't done so already, set up a Brunel account
  • Once you are logged in, navigate to one of these sections. UK is one of the main toolbar options on the homepage, then select, e.g. Business & Economy.
  • Very recent articles are available further down the page, but at the top is a timeline with years 2007 to the present year.  Select a year to see key articles in that year, and narrow down further by clicking on a month.
  • When using this, remember that the Financial Times is one newspaper - when reading newspaper articles you should consider looking at articles from other newspapers and from academic books and journals.  You may find the SAGE Navigator function useful for seeing how a research field has changed over time.
