When you are referencing/citing an organisation which is abbreviated, you need to write the Author out in full in the reference:

Nursing and Midwifery Council [NMC] (2018) The code. Available at: https://www.nmc.org.uk/standards/code/ (Accessed: 28  November 2024)

But as long as you add the abbreviation in brackets, then you can cite (Nursing and Midwifery Council [NMC], 2018) the first time, then every other time cite it as (NMC, 2018)

This same principle applies to National Institute of Health and Care Excellence [NICE], Royal College of Nursing [RCN], World Health

Organisation [WHO], Royal College of Occupational Therapists [RCOT], Chartered Society of Physiotherapists [CSP] etc.
