The data and statistics databases available at Brunel are accessible (or in some cases have details about how to access them) on the Databases A-Z and the Data and Statistics Library Guide.
The below links take you to specific sections in the recorded training on Business Specific Resources, created in September 2024.
- FAME (Live demo in a previous session)
- Orbis Very Large
- Bloomberg (brief intro). Full class on Getting Started with Bloomberg
- LSEG (Refinitiv) Workspace (includes Datastream).
- Fitch Ratings Pro
In the Sourcing Secondary Data video, created a couple of years ago so not the most up to date source for all databases (though it is linked above occasionally), this section is worth highlighting:
Teaching on how to use these industry standard databases for research is included in lectures provided by Alice Cann, the business librarian, in relevant module within Brunel Business School, and at times in other department too - these resources are relevant to students and researchers in many fields. (Module leaders can contact their Academic Liaison Librarian to ask about including this content in their module).
Training on Data and Statistics resources is sometimes included in the LibSmart programme of workshops.
An Academic Liaison Librarian is available for drop-in support at the LibSmart point on Floor 1 of the Library Monday - Friday 1-4pm. Or see the Academic Liaison Librarian contact details for information on appointment availability or to get in touch via email.
