The EBSCO database platform has good options for searching for academic journals and other material, and for making use of the results of your searches. Brunel has subscriptions to a wide range of databases on the EBSCO platform, and there are others available to Brunel staff, students and researchers as part of our membership of the University of London. Many databases contain the full text of journal articles and, in addition to this, have bibliographic details - great for searching - of many more journals.
All Brunel EBSCO databases are listed on the Databases A-Z on the Library website, and in the Databases section on relevant Subject Guides. Senate House Library Databases, including EBSCO databases, are available via their Databases A-Z
The edited recording of a LibSmart and Doctoral Research workshop on Literature Searching in EBSCO Databases: Searching, Saving and Exporting is available to watch. Links to specific sections are provided below:
The slides in many sections have updated and expanded since the workshop. Contact Alice Cann, the Academic Liaison Librarian for Business, if you’d like to be sent the slides. There is also more depth on some of these topics in the Systematic Literature Review sessions run in March 2026 - recordings of these will be available soon (and slides are available now if you email.
For help on any of the these topics, contact your Academic Liaison Librarian, or drop by the LibSmart point at the Library Helpdesk on weekday afternoons, usually 1-3pm - see the rota for details.
