Details on how to set your NHS OpenAthens password are sent to all eligible Brunel automatically by the local NHS HEI OpenAthens administrator via an email from Eduserv.
- You only get a short period of time to activate your NHS OpenAthens account - so please do so immediately.
- Please save the email you receive from Eduserv Athens securely for future reference.
- If you need to reset your password use the relevant link at MyAthens.
- If you have any further questions see the related answers or contact your local NHS OpenAthens administrator at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that the NHS HEI OpenAthens resources are separate from the resources provided by Brunel on the Library website, which do not use Athens for access at all. These resources are not included in the eJournals A-Z or Databases list, and will therefore not be linked when conducting searches using Brunel accounts.
To access Brunel's resources we recommend that you should sign in via the "Access resources off-campus" link on the Library homepage and use the links provided on our subject or databases web pages. Note also that we have an alternative access management system should you need to authenticate yourself at a resource as a Brunel user when you are off campus *and* you haven't used our e-Library links. Look for the "Institutional Login" link (also known as Shibboleth or Federated Access), rather than OpenAthens, and look for UK Access Management Federation (or UK Higher Education) then look for Brunel University.
Finally, if you work for the NHS OpenAthens registration form or contact the relevant NHS OpenAthens administrator for your Trust, which may give you access to a different set of electronic resources - just use the
